Q: I can’t afford life insurance. How much does life insurance cost?

A: The response to this statement is very simple. If you have people dependent on you, they cannot afford to not have coverage. When most people take the time to sit down and honestly review their financial situation with Nevada Life Services they realize that having a policy is more affordable than they originally thought.

Q: Can I get insurance if I have existing health challenges?

A: Yes. Surprisingly there are only a very few health conditions that eliminate someone from getting coverage. Even people who have had cancer, heart conditions or diabetes can get coverage to cover their need for insurance.

Q: I already have life insurance, why should I meet with Nevada Life Services?

A: The answer is very simple, peace of mind. Most people don’t know what type of coverage they have or how their policy works. In addition a lot of people are under the assumption that they can only have one policy , which is not true. Nevada Life Services has never and will never advise a client to cancel or replace any policy that serves the need it was purchased for.

Q: Shouldn’t I shop for the absolute best price before I buy a policy?

A: Pricing for life insurance is regulated by each individual state. Therefore the price for coverage is typically very close for the same amount of coverage from company to company. If you see a large difference in pricing, it is most likely because the policies your comparing are a different type or your sacrificing benefits to save money.

Q: Why Do I need life insurance if I have it at work?

A: Life insurance provided by your employer should never be the foundation for a family’s protection. The reason for this is because the coverage can be lost or not payout under some very common circumstances. The owner of a employee benefits life insurance program is typically the employer and not the employee. Because the group policies are typically AD & D policies they are very inexpensive, but the guaranteed benefits are greatly reduced when compared to a private policy or plan.

Q: How much coverage do I need?

A: The amount of coverage varies greatly depending on the need. If you have children and or a family that is dependent on your income, it is suggested that you should have 8-10 times your annual salary or wage. We understand that everyone’s situation is different. Most people want to do the absolute best for their family or loved ones. We feel that it is imperative for our clients to secure coverage that meets their needs, but more importantly, it is important to secure coverage you can continue to afford. When a financial crisis hits a business or household their protection is typically one of the first things to go. We do not encourage or want our clients to put themselves in a unsustainable plan or policy. We will help you select the policy that fits your needs and custom tailor it to your budget.

Q: My spouse doesn’t work and takes care of our kids, should they have a life insurance program or policy?

A: Even if a spouse doesn’t work a paid job there role in the family is critical. Because of this a policy that provides transitional income and money to pay for someone to take over their out of home role or child care needs is critical to your family’s future.

Q: What type of insurance policy is best for my young family?

A: The best type of life insurance is the life insurance that is in force at the time of loss. More specifically a combination of policies would be the absolute best, if your finances permit.

Q: How much does a funeral cost?

A: There are several studies that have been conducted to narrow down what the average cost of a funeral is today. The studies have stated that the average funeral will cost $6,000-$10,000 without “extras” like flowers, obituary notices, acknowledgment cards or limousines can add thousands of dollars to the bottom line. In many cases, funerals run well over $10,000. Depending on where you live in the country and what type of service your loved ones select can make the cost vary significantly. Nevada Life Services encourages you to visit the Federal Trade Commission’s website to view several different studies regarding the cost of a funeral.

Q: Should I pre-pay my final expenses?

A: Pre-paying for a funeral in advance is another option for paying for final expenses. If an individual or family pays for these services in full and in advance the need is definitely taken care of. What a lot of people do not understand is that until the service is paid for in full the remaining balance must be paid in full before services are rendered. The difference between paying a monthly payment for a funeral and paying a monthly premium on a final expense policy is that the final expense policy provides a full and complete financial benefit from day one. In some cases as described in associated texts a limited benefit may be paid in the first 2-3 years depending on the proposed insured’s health condition and history at the time of application.
